Many of you may know that i like to cook or should i say i LOVE to cook. Recently i've been watching cooking shows and videos.
(This is going to be quite lenghty)
What i love about cook: i love that how a few simple things made properly can turn into something so wonderful. I also love how the way raw food transform after cooking into something which could be totally different. I love the way how meat when cooked changes colour, texture, taste. The are so many possiblility and where do i start.
I may love to cook and seeing how food changes but at the end of the day of any meal cooked by any person is to see the people eating your food loving it and wanting more, that kind of satisfaction and sense of achievement is so great. But the true happiness of cooking is to see the smiles of those people. They do not have to say anything or even pay anything if it was at a restaurant, just seeing the smiles on peoples face after eating your food is the same as maybe doing volunteering work.
I've finally realise what being a chef is about and will be like. it will be hot in the kitchen there may be people shouting at you but at the end of the day the most important thing is the process.
I've been watching kitchen nighmares and its been an eye opener, i don't understand how people can serve unhygenic food to other people. like food kept for days, cooked the day before and then served the next day. And the level of hygiene of the kitchen it makes me wonder whether we are served this way here in singapore.
Watching the show has also given me an eye into opening your own restaurant. ITS FREAKING HARD. but that is my ultimate dream. having a restaurant which i go to everyday and serve good food to people and seeing the happy faces after a good meal.
Right now i feel like i have sort of wasted 3 and a half years. But i'm just going to finish it and proceed with NS and after that i would love to go to shatec to the institute of culinary arts. After that maybe work at a restaurant for a year or two and during that time plan to open a restaurant.
It all sounds so wonderful but i know its not going to come true if i do not work towards it. Thats y i very determined to do so. and i hope i get the opportunity to do so.
I don't any1 will be reading this but hey it could very well be a reminder for me in the future.

I've Found It
I've Found It
And This time its going to stay.
I've found my dream.
